Glen Eagles welcomes back the Regional Chili Cook-off this weekend; get your fill of some amazing grub and help raise funds for Honor Flight Nevada. Get your reggae fix at the Westside Pour House when Whiskey Lung starts jamming. Join Mike Thompson at the Plaza Hotel: the Roswell Incident is the subject of tonight’s lecture.

For some laughs, head to Carson Comedy in the Nugget Casino or Improv Night at the Brewery Arts Center. Take the kids to Carson Hot Springs: free admission for those under 18 today. Break a leg, Wild Horse Children’s Theater. Aladdin Jr. opens tonight at the Carson City Community Center. Mills Park is home to a carnival for the long weekend, so grab yourself a funnel cake or a spin on the Ferris Wheel tonight until 10 p.m.

BLM pulls plug on Nevada mustang fertility project

Carson City fundraiser to help rider's journey to raise horse adoption awareness

The event, dubbed "Along for the Ride" will be done in support of Samantha Szesciorka, who, for the second time since 2013, will ride across Nevada by horseback to advocate for wild horses.

Auditions will be held Thursday, April 14 from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall at 511 W. King Street in Carson City. Performances are weekends July 1 - 10, 2016.
