Ideal spring weather before the next system arrives Monday bringing with it warmer temperatures but showers as well. Today there's art gallery showings, two children's theater performances, a bike ride and a tour of the stone Wungnema House at Mills Park.
Fishing Report: Indian Creek Reservoir and Lake Tahoe currently best bet

One thing we can all plan on is, all the back country lakes and roads will not be open until June or July. The one thing we can count on is the Carson River and a few of the lakes in the Inyo and Mono County area.
Opening day will be on April 27th this year, and with our rain and snow totals, there will be plenty of water everywhere.

Carson City HOSA students compete in state competition, take home 6 chapter awards
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 03/27/2019 - 8:52amCARSON CITY — A total of 93 Career and Technical Education (CTE) and HOSA (Future Health Professionals) students competed in the Nevada State Leadership Conference held at the Rio in Las Vegas March 18-20.
There were a total of 74 students from Carson High School (CHS), 6 from Pioneer High School (PHS) and 13 from Carson Middle School (CMS). More than 1,000 students from across the state of Nevada competed in more than 40 medical competition events.

Obituary: David Michael Ortiz

David grew up in Santa Fe Springs, California with his 7 siblings and served in the U.S. Navy before moving to Lake Tahoe. He was a Facilities Engineer at Harrah's Lake Tahoe for 33 years where he met and married the love of his life, Paula (Bachmeier).

Man walking with his pants down arrested for indecent exposure

Ann streets in downtown Carson City for gross misdemeanor indecent exposure after multiple witnesses observed him with his pants down, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

Cross-country skiing returns to Spooner Lake State Park

This trail system is free to the public and made possible by a partnership between Nevada State Parks and Nevada Nordic, a non-profit group based in the Lake Tahoe Basin.
