Carson City Sheriff’s Office asks for public’s help in identifying fraud suspects

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division is asking for assistance in identifying credit card fraud suspects.

On Saturday, June 1 at approximately 4 a.m. two unidentified white male adults used stolen credit cards at Walmart in Carson City.

Gayatri & other ancient Hindu mantras opened both Nevada Senate & Assembly

Both Nevada State Assembly and Senate in capital Carson City started their sessions on April 22 with ancient Hindu prayers; containing verses from world’s oldest extant scripture.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed delivered these invocations from ancient Sanskrit scriptures before the Assembly and Senate. After Sanskrit delivery, he then read the English interpretation of the prayers. Sanskrit is considered a sacred language in Hinduism and root language of Indo-European languages.

Sheriff's Office approved to apply for grant to fund victim's advocate for Carson City

According to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong, the Sheriff’s Office is applying for a grant in order to fund a victim’s advocate position, a position that used to be under the umbrella of Advocates to End Domestic Violence.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors overruled an appeal aimed at stopping the construction of Sierra Skies RV Park, an Extended Stay RV Park, with a clause added that would help ensure park guests would not become permanent residents of the park.

New Carson City Nissan Dealership breaks ground Wednesday

Carson City’s newest dealership broke ground Wednesday morning, welcoming in Carson City Nissan, owned by Chris Russell.

Carson City committee faces appeal on Special Use Permit granted to an Extended Stay RV Park

On Jan. 30, the Carson City Planning Committee decided to approve a Special Use Permit for an extended stay RV park on property zoned Tourist Commercial located at 1400 Old Hot Springs Road. The maximum stay would be 180 days.

However, an appeal has been made to the Board of Supervisor's by a nearby property owner asking to revoke the Special Use Permit.

Another Nevada 1st: Hindu mantras to open both Nevada Senate and Assembly daily for week

After Nevada became first U.S. state with a majority-female legislature, now it seems to be making another record of opening both legislative chambers for one entire week with Hindu mantras.

Both Nevada Senate and Assembly in capital Carson City are scheduled to start their day with ancient Hindu prayers for the entire week of April 22-26, containing verses from the world’s oldest existing scripture.
