Scott Michael Tyzbir, 49, faces charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a hypodermic needle and possessing drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $27,264.
Two-tiered offender arrested after failing to register with Carson City authorities

Levi Whitehead, with no known fixed Carson City address given, is being held on $7,500 bail in Carson City Jail. According to the arrest report, the last known address for the man was in the 3800 block of Ponderosa Drive in Carson City. The man told authorities he has been sleeping on couches of friends between Reno and Carson City.

Katherine Denise Martin, 20 and Grant Austin, 21, each faces gross misdemeanor child neglect and endangerment charges after Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies made the May 28 discovery at the College Parkway apartment. Bail has been set at $2,500 each.

Carson City deputies arrest three after fight with tire iron
Submitted by editor on Wed, 05/19/2010 - 1:30pmThree people face multiple criminal charges after a fight early Tuesday morning in the 2000 block of Hawaii Circle in Carson City.
Officers were dispatched to the home for a report of domestic battery in progress with a possible weapon involved. An anonymous person alerted dispatch of a fight involving several people.
As deputies arrived there were two men standing in the front lawn and a woman standing in the doorway of the home. The men have been identified as Steven Barnes, 48, and Joshua Emborsky, 21. The woman was identified as Elysia Varney, 19.
Road rage incident lands Carson City man in jail

On Thursday at about 4 p.m. the suspect, John Delvecchio, was allegedly driving in an aggressive manner in an unregistered Cadillac, tailgating, honking his horn, cursing and attempting to run the victim off the road several times between the Douglas County Sheriff's Office building in Gardnerville and the Carson City limits, according to the arrest report.
Two gang members face felony battery charges after beating Carson City man
Submitted by editor on Mon, 05/10/2010 - 10:59amTwo known Carson City gang members have been arrested after allegedly beating a man who had tried to defend his sister from a rash of annoying phone calls made to her while she was working.
In statements made by the victim and his sister, the problem began on Friday when one of the 18th Street gang members, identified as Jaimi Ponce, 19, kept calling a fast-food restaurant, wanting to speak with the woman. When the victim, who also worked at the restaurant told the man to stop calling, Ponce began yelling at him on the phone, according to the arrest report.
Arrest made in string of Carson City vehicle thefts; authorities investigate connection to stolen Toyota trucks

Paul Allen Jennings, 39, of Carson City, and Shadine Ford, 24, of Gardnerville, face several felony charges after authorities found the pair hiding in the bushes after admitting they broke into a Carson City home. The pair also told authorities they had been involved in several vehicle burglary and break-ins over the past few days because, they said, they needed the money.

High winds overnight and early this morning of nearly 50 mph on the west side of town to more than 70 mph just outside the city limits blew lots of dead and dying tree limbs and debris to the ground, public works reported.
Carson City Sheriff's Office reports some calls were made to the department regarding downed trees. One large tree limb smashed into a fence and blocked part of the road at Ash Canyon and Ormsby. Public Works removed the debris earlier this morning.
Carson City Sheriff’s Protective Association endorses Guimont

Of the 75 ballots cast, and 60 returned, Guimont racked up 45 votes, or 86.5 percent of the actual votes cast, followed by incumbent sheriff Ken Furlong with four votes and challenger Bob White, a sheriff's office captain, with three votes. Of the returned ballots, five were marked No Candidate and three of the votes were not counted because they were not sealed.
Carson City meth bust nets 30 grams; surveillance equipment and vehicle seized

Deputies arrested the 52-year-old suspect, a Carson City carpenter, on numerous felony drug charges including drug trafficking.
