The Thursday, Feb. 13 hike is at the Clear Creek Trail, lower end. Meet at the trailhead for the Clear Creek trail, 1/2 mile west of Jacks Valley Elementary School on Jacks Valley Road, 1.8 miles west of Hwy 395.

The Tuesday, Feb. 11 event is at the Carson Tahoe Medical Loop/Wellness Mile. Meet in the parking lot opposite Pesti Lane on Medical Parkway. We will walk on Medical Parkway around the hospital, and on neighborhood sidewalks around the hospital. Flashlight required.

Carson City Mint 150th anniversary, fitness events, classic film showing and more Tuesday

Heading into Tuesday, the capital city will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Carson City Mint with events throughout the day. Other activities include a morning and evening walk hosted by Muscle Powered, a dinner fundraiser for the Roman family at Pizza Factory, a community dinner and meeting invite to the Order of Eastern Star, a showing at the BAC of the 1941 film classic "The Lady Eve" and a concert featuring the Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus with violin soloist Elizabeth Pitcairn at Shepherd-Sierra Lutheran Church. 150th anniversary of Carson City Mint happens this Tuesday

It is one thing to study history; it is another witness it. Visitors to the Nevada State Museum in Carson City this Tuesday, Feb. 4, will find themselves in history’s front row as the museum celebrates the 150th anniversary of the Carson City Mint. Just as it did 150 years earlier to the day, the Mint’s Coin Press No. 1 will be pressing silver coins, complete with the famous “CC” mint mark.

Heading into the Super Bowl weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days.   • The deadline is approaching. (Example: Hard deadline, no moving it, often has penalties for missing)

Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range to close for construction beginning Jan. 27

The Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range will be closed for construction starting Jan. 27, 2020. For safety reasons, all shooting activities, including reservations and public use, are canceled during construction. The construction schedule is anticipated to last approximately 10 weeks, although it will be contingent on weather conditions.
