Nevada Department of Agriculture awarded $2 million FDA food safety grant

The Nevada Department of Agriculture has been awarded a $2 million U.S Food and Drug Administration grant that will be used to offer workshops, training and technical assistance to Nevada farmers to aid in prevention of produce-related food outbreaks.

Carson City Supervisors to vote on Vintage at Kings Canyon Thursday

Additionally Carson City provides $24,000 a year in other financial support to NNDA.

Both Clinton and Trump are the presumptive Democratic and Republican candidates for president of the United States respectively. Both have fought very contentious campaigns, Both do not carry a high degree of trust with the American voting public, but for different reasons.

Firewood cutting permits available Friday for dead and burned trees

Beginning Friday, June 10, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest’s Carson Ranger District will open dead, and down and dead tree woodcutting areas.

The dead tree areas include: Dog Valley area near Reno, Nevada, and Hope Valley, Leviathan/Poor Boy, and Wolf Creek Road (dead burned trees) areas near Markleeville, California. The down and dead tree areas are in Woodfords Canyon and the Washington Fire burned area near Markleeville.
