The Fourth Annual Carson City Off-Road is dedicated to Carson City native and visionary trails community leader, Joel Dunn. Born and raised in Carson City, Dunn has not only witnessed the evolution of Nevada's state capital but has also been a driving force in its transition into a recreation-focused community.

Stacey Giomi is a long-time Carson City resident, and the newest member on the Board of Supervisors after being voted into the vacancy left by Karen Abowd. Giomi spent 30 plus years as a firefighter for our community before retiring as Fire Chief. During this series of Five Questions, Giomi discusses his time as fire chief, issues facing Carson City, and what he plans to accomplish during his time on the Board of Supervisors.

Carson City Bee Hotel now open for business thanks to Chamber students

At the ribbon cutting ceremony held on Friday, quite a number of bees were seen buzzing around the new bee hotel soon to choose their future accommodation.

Released behind the Carson Tahoe Health Cancer Center at the trailhead of the one-mile long Serenity Trail on Thursday, 150 Mason bees couldn’t wait to be freed from their boxes by their foster mother, Debra Conrad, a member of the class who kept the bees until they could be released.

Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space will offer two bicycle programs this summer, one designed for children and the other for adults and teens.

Approximately 1,500 housing units could be coming soon to Carson City

There are currently 21,692 housing units in Carson City, according to the Nevada Rural Housing Authority’s most recent study. There could be an additional 1,500 housing units available in the coming years. The developments range from being under review to now under construction.

National Trails Day 2019: Carson City celebrates its biggest gathering

National Trails Day was last Saturday, June 1 and Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space celebrated by having more than 70 trail builders and supporters along, including Mayor Bob Crowell, making it our biggest National Trails Day event yet.

Carson City to highlight acquisition near Ash Canyon for Saturday's National Trails Day
