CCBMX, with all its riders, members, families and volunteers, cordially invite the community to "TURN ON THE LIGHTS." CCBMX will turn the light switch at approximately 8 pm for the "soft" opening of our NEW lights. Carson City community leaders who have been instrumental in our LIGHTS installation have also been invited.

Well, it’s in Reno, but that isn’t too far of a drive for elephants, clowns, and cotton candy. Also in Reno, but intended for a slightly older audience, is the Lady Luck Tattoo and Art Expo, coincidentally held at Circus Circus.
For the outdoorsy-types you can join in the March to End Senior Hunger 5K in Dayton; the 5K Glow Run benefitting the Western Nevada College Softball Team; or join a ranger at Washoe Lake State Park for a guided hike.

The Open House is free to the public and we will have on display private and military aircraft, airplane rides, tethered balloon rides, RC Airplane exhibitions, and formation flights, Robotics exhibitions, drone zone, the Challenger Learning Center as well as fun and food for all ages.
Carson City chamber celebrates remodel with Artisan Showcase open house
Submitted by editor on Wed, 02/04/2015 - 5:10pmThe Carson City Chamber of Commerce held an open house Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 to unveil its new Artisan Showcase. The works of talented artists from within the region are now showcased along with metal artisan Robbie St Clair who created a special sculpture for the event.
The chamber recently finished an overhaul of its building including adding the Artisan Showcase where local art and jewelry are sold. It commissioned St Clair to recreate the Carson City freeway eagle to a size suitable for displaying in homes or on desks.

Carson City Chamber unveils eagle art Saturday at grand opening of Artisan Showcase

The works of talented artists from within the region will be showcased along with metal artisan Robbie St Clair who created a special grand opening sculpture for the Carson City Chamber — the Eagle that stands guard over our Eagle Valley seen along the I-580 corridor when entering or leaving our city from the North.
Bethlehem Lutheran School Open House

All classrooms, Preschool through 8th grade will be open. 6th and 8th grade science projects and 7th grade social studies projects will be on display in the gym. This is a great time to see what our students have been doing. New families will be able to talk with teachers and staff.

Community and Senior Center in Gardnerville to celebrate grand opening

Nevada Highway Patrol to host open house at Reno Command Offices

You will be able to tour our facilities to observe what is done on a daily basis for the highway patrol. You can see our fleet of vehicles and see who maintains our vehicles both inside and out. You will also see our mobile command center and our mobile breath analyzer truck. Refreshments will be served.

At the meeting committee members will discuss and give their recommendations to the Carson City Board of Supervisors regarding the conceptual design of the Refresh Carson downtown plan for Carson Street between William and Fifth streets. The committee will vote to recommend allowing city staff to continue to develop more detailed design elements of the plan.
Nevada county association celebrates Sesquicentennial tonight with western singers, UNR cadet band

The event will also feature the UNR Cadet Band and a chance to see inside one of Carson City’s historic pre-statehood homes. The event begins at 6 p.m. on the lawn of the historic Ormsby Rosser house at 3rd and Minnesota Streets in Carson City.
Forest Service to host Heavenly expansion proposal open house Thursday

The Young need the Elders for their Wisdom and Guidance, so they can learn from our mistakes.
The Elders need the Young for their Optimism, Hope, and Enthusiasm, to keep them young at heart.
I am a third-generation Carsonite. I remember this city in the 60’s and 70’s. Recently, a gentleman told me this is a senior community, a thought shared by many.
Downtown Carson City street design concepts presented today open house
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Fri, 09/05/2014 - 8:49amCarson City will present concepts for improvements to downtown Carson Street at a public open house on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at noon and 5:30 p.m. in the Community Center Sierra Room.
The concepts will be available for public review and staff will be available to answer questions and take public comments from 12 to 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Plans for downtown include wider sidewalks and enhanced landscaping. The plans will implement the vision for downtown that was adopted with the City’s Master Plan in 2006.
