A 69-year-old Reno man died in a crash that happened Wednesday afternoon south of Gardnerville on Highway 395, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Following damaging winds and flood waters in the Carson Valley that left power lines down and roads covered with standing water, the Douglas County Board of Commissioners has declared a state of emergency, the Douglas County Joint Information Center said in a press release Saturday.

Highway 395, the main artery between Carson City and Douglas County has reopened, partially, this Saturday morning with 1 lane opened for northbound traffic and 1 lane opened for southbound traffic, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

A toddler injured in a three-vehicle motor vehicle accident at Johnson Lane and U.S. Highway 395 in the Carson Valley on Tuesday, Jan. 17 has died, the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) reports.

UPDATE 4:52 PM: The suspect in Thursday morning's vehicle pursuit has been identified as Tyrone Preciado, 36. He was booked into Washoe County Jail on charges of DUI, domestic battery, violation of special speed limitations and disobeying an officer.

The Nevada Highway Patrol led a vehicle pursuit Thursday morning that ended north of Carson City with the suspect jumping out of the vehicle and fleeing on foot before being captured near the old Highway 395 exit.

Emergency crews responded early Saturday night to a two vehicle crash on Highway 395 in Douglas County near the Silver City RV Park south of Carson City, which briefly closed the northbound lane.

A crash Tuesday morning in the Stagecoach area near Silver Springs sent two to the hospital via CareFlight with non-life threatening injuries, a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper said.

Gail Williams, 61, of Carson City has been identified by family as the woman who died in the Nov. 17 crash at the intersection of Stewart and Robinson streets.

A preliminary investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office into the Nov. 1 fatal shooting of an armed man inside a Carson City apartment complex by a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper shows at least two shots that were fired by the suspect before law enforcement arrived and a dash cam patrol video of the moments leading up to the shooting.

On Tuesday, Nov. 1 at approximately 9:29 a.m., Carson City dispatch received a 911 phone call of a white male that had shot a gun in the Manager's Office of the Senator Apartments at 505 S. Roop Street.

UPDATE 11:10AM: The temporary closure of Roop Street at Fifth and Little Lane ended and was re-opened at 11:07 a.m., according to dispatch.

Investigators in Carson City closed a portion of Roop Street at Fifth and Little streets Wednesday as part of the follow up investigation of Tuesday's NHP involved shooting at the Senator Apartments.

A crash on Highway 50 at Enterprise four miles east of Dayton at around noon Tuesday has sent two people to the hospital via air ambulance with serious injuries and one person to the hospital by ground ambulance, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

UPDATE 2:46PM: The investigation into the Nevada Highway Patrol trooper involved shooting continues. At around 9:30 this morning, Carson City sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a report of a man with a gun inside the apartment manager's office and possible shots fired.

More people will be out on the streets Monday night in Carson City than any other evening of the year as the Nevada state capital prepares to celebrate Halloween night.

UPDATE 6:22PM: The Little Valley Fire has burned more than 2,000 acres and 22 homes. The fire is burning west of Franktown Road, moving north toward Bowers Mansion and Joy Lake Road. The Unified Command transitioned to the Sierra Front Type 3 Incident Management Team at 5 p.m.
