Nevada Day art exhibit at BAC continues through November, student show begins Dec. 1

On tap is a morning walk hosted by Muscle Powered, a memorial dedication ceremony on the capitol grounds and a pickle ball tournament at the MAC. Renowned Artist Terese Nielsen will do a signing at The Hydra's Lair and our own Western Nevada Musical Theatre presents the start of the second week of "Mamma Mia!"

Polls in Nevada open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, enjoy another day of sunny skies with a hike, brisk walk or bike ride around town. There's both a morning and evening hike offered through Muscle Powered or you can simply walk through downtown Carson City and alongside the capitol building. Also featured today are activities that promote diabetes awareness through Carson Tahoe Health, numerous art showings, local political party election night events and a classic film being shown at the Brewery Arts Center.

Post Nevada Day 'Trash Mob' collects over 1,000 pounds of waste in Carson City

Twenty-five volunteers of all ages gathered at the Farmer’s Market parking lot at 8 a.m. Together, the group gathered more than 1,000 pounds of trash.
State Route 28 for Pathway Bridge Installation finishes ahead of schedule

Both directions of SR 28 were closed between Lakeshore Boulevard in southern Incline Village near Tunnel Creek Café and Sand Harbor State Park from 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Oct. 29 for installation of bridges on the State Route 28 shared used path. Originally scheduled to also take place Oct.

Carson Victory Rollers open Nevada Day derby with first win
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Sat, 10/27/2018 - 7:21pmThe Carson Victory Rollers, Carson City's hometown roller derby team, opened the annual "Battle For Nevada" roller derby tournament with a win over Battle Born Derby Demons Saturday afternoon.
The win positioned CVR to play a second bout at 5 p.m. Saturday. Roller derby continues Sunday as the "Battle For Nevada" wraps up by crowning a champion.

But the festivities continue on Bob McFadden Plaza with the popular annual beard contest as well as the Battle For Nevada roller derby competition featuring Carson City's own Carson Victory Rollers at the Carson City Community Center gymnasium.
