While the BAC is open to other artists and arts organizations, as well as the general public for collaborations and to rent their facilities, a resident status may be offered to organizations who demonstrate sound business practices, financial strength, the ability to fill seats and, above all, artistic prowess. Both organizations will retain their independence and tax exempt, nonprofit status.

A limited number of IRONMAN Foundation spots are still available. The race is September 22, 2013.

Tahoe City-based Truckee River Rafting opened Tuesday, June 12. Truckee River Raft Company, also in Tahoe City, opens today, Thursday, June 14. The companies offer self-guided, five-mile floats down the Truckee River.
Lake Tahoe prepares itself for multiple fireworks celebrations

“North Lake Tahoe is unique in that we have a series of fireworks events held throughout the region,” said Chief Marketing Officer Andy Chapman of the North Lake Tahoe Chamber/CVB/Resort Association. “Visitors to the area can take their pick in terms of when and where or enjoy more than one show during their stay.”

Crime Log: Toads Bar shooter arrested by Reno PD, transported to Carson City

Costa on Thu, 03/08/2012 - 5:55amA Reno Police Department deputy arrested Emanuel "Bouncer" Moreno, a 21-year-old Carson City man, at 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the 1100 block of Mill Street (Renown Medical Center) in Reno. Moreno was involved in a shooting at approximately 4:15 a.m. Saturday morning in front of Toads Bar on East William Street. Moreno was arrested on a felony attempted murder allegation as well as misdemeanor allegations of discharging a firearm in public and contempt of court. Bail is set at $76,500.

Movie Review: 'Star Wars: The Phantom Menance' rages again in 3D

Not so lucky now when I went to see the reworked original decked out in 3D. It's a corny movie and the 3D adds little to the viewing except for the $3 extra per ticket. At the Galaxy Fandango in Carson City you can see the release without 3D and you won't be missing much.
