We know that fatalities have decreased since May; mostly because our elders and people with underlying health conditions have taken the required precautions. Look around you. A new local custom automotive shop is set to open in Carson City to help personalize your vehicle.

Carson Built Customs, located at 220 E. William St., specializes in custom powder coatings, metal works, CNC fabrication as well as custom installations for automobiles and motorcycles. No exact date has been set for when the business opens. Thomas Purnal, owner of Carson Built Customs, said he plans on opening to the public by mid-July.

NV Energy plan would cut bills by $2 a month for Northern Nevada residential customers

A Public Utilities Commission of Nevada telephonic consumer session will be held Thursday to discuss NV Energy rate reductions for customers. For Northern Nevada electric customers, the utility proposes to decrease rates an estimated $24.1 million or 3.47 percent across all rate classes, which would result in an estimated decrease in the average monthly residential bill of $2.09, or 2.92 percent.

Greater Nevada Credit Union awards $60,000 in scholarships statewide, $22,000 to Carson City area grads

Greater Nevada Credit Union has awarded 31 Nevada students with scholarships to continue their academic pursuits through the GNCU Scholarship Program. $22,000 went to eleven students from the Carson City area.
