On the docket today we’ve got day two of the Rib Fest, a Virginia City train tour, museum activities, a heroes parade, and more. Festivities include the opening day of the Rockin’ Rib Fest at Carson City's Casino Fandango, the planting of American flags on the graves of our fallen veterans at Lone Mountain Cemetery, a weekly open mic night at A to Zen, laughs at the Carson Comedy Club, live music and more.

Alfresco” at Toiyabe Golf Club in Washoe Valley at 19 Lightning W Ranch Road, New Washoe City NV 89704 on Sunday, June 16th. There is only one show: 6 pm. $20 per person.
Bring your own picnic and enjoy sunshine, fresh air and “P’Opera!” Music on the beautiful grounds of Toiyabe. If you don’t have time to prepare a picnic, purchase dinner from Toiyabe GC who will be grilling burgers, dogs, and tri-tip.

Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sat, 07/21/2018 - 12:38pmUPDATE: 4:45PM: At 4:05 p.m. Saturday, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10 miles southwest of Gardnerville, moving north at 10 mph. Dime size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this storm. Brief heavy rain is also possible with this storm. Outflow winds could reach as far northwest as South Lake Tahoe.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Thunderstorms will develop across the region over the next few hours with a few strong thunderstorms likely by mid-afternoon, according to a report from the National Weather Service in Reno.
