Carson City’s Shoe Tree Brewing Co. selected to craft the official Nevada Day beer

Long before Shoe Tree Brewing Co. was in existence, co-owners and brother Paul and Jeff Young have had a tradition of brewing a beer specifically for Nevada Day to share amongst friends and family.

This year, they are brewing the Official Nevada Day Beer for the first of hopefully many years.

Northern Nevada Zero Fatalities campaign partners to provide no cost Lyft ride credits

Zero Fatalities has expanded its partnership with Lyft by teaming up with local businesses and organizations committed to eliminating impaired driving fatalities in Northern Nevada.

Lyft has pledged $50,000 in free ride credit to be distributed during major consumption holidays to support the coalition’s campaigns that promote safe transportation options throughout the region.

Many children in the Carson City area can benefit from the Seniors in Service Nevada's Foster Grandparent Program. Foster Grandparents are people 55 and over who enjoy spending time with children. “Grandmas” and “Grandpas” volunteer time in schools mentoring and tutoring children. Foster Grandparents become a part of the culture and fabric of the classroom and school.

What is Kiwanis? Carson City Kiwanis is a group of local individuals who gather together and volunteer for the betterment of Carson City. Carson City Kiwanis was established in 1959 by a group of small business owners. At today's Board of Supervisors meeting, Karen's last of 2018, the community, in unison, thanked and acknowledged her tireless efforts in creating a better cultural landscape for Carson City.
