Silver City Labor Day Weekend Rummage Sale! On Saturday, August 31 from 8 am to 3 pm in the Silver City Park there will be a town rummage sale to raise funds for the Comstock Residents Association.

Heading into Tuesday, August 27, 2019 we're looking at continued hot weather around the capital city, with daytime highs in the mid to upper 90s. Ahead is a job fair at the Carson Nugget, a Fat Tuesday business networking gathering, a morning walk, evening hike and a bike ride with Muscle Powered, free skin cancer testing offered by Carson Tahoe Health and Wellness Institute, a Relay for Life fundraiser at Firehouse Subs and more.

On Sunday, July 14 the Jimenez brothers were involved in a head-on collision with other friends. This occurred during a return trip from Las Vegas. Alberto Jimenez surfed a broken femur along with a serious facial laceration. His brother Alejandro Jimenez will need physical therapy to strengthen his body after the crash.

There will be a dinner time fundraiser for Carson City, Douglas County Relay for life this Tuesday evening, August 27 at Firehouse Subs in Carson City.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a mountain of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days, including HopeFest9 on Friday, dirt bike races at Fuji Park, a job fair at Eagle Valley Children's Home, and the final weekend of the Jazz and Beyond festival and Levitt AMP outdoor concert series at the Brewery Arts Center.

CARSON CITY — Northern Nevada Development Authority announced the winners Thursday of its annual Pioneer Awards. Winners will be honored and celebrated during the 5th Annual NNDA Pioneer Awards and Gala being held on Nov. 7, 2019.

Classic cars of all makes and models filled Fuji Park Saturday during the sixth annual Send a Scout to Camp Car Show in Carson City.

Recently, the Foundation was the recipient of a $20,000 matching grant from the Robert Z. Hawkins Foundation to continue to refresh the Bob Boldrick Theater lobby within the community center that started in February allowing then Chamber Chairman of the Board Bob Fredlund to present the Foundation with a check for $20,300.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday Carson City’s Petsmart next to Lowe’s is hosting a “Clear the Shelter” carnival-themed adoption and fundraiser event.

“It’s our first year joining the event,” said Petsmart Manager Rachel Garcia. “We have several different shelters here along with food, face painting, and more.”

Support the Carson High School Soccer Program by getting your car cleaned and ready for school season today, Saturday, April 17 at Carson High School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

CARSON CITY — The Foundation at Carson Tahoe Health, which provides housing for cancer patients in need, has announced a new opportunity for interested donors to support initiatives and give with a new “Text-to-Donate” option.

Heading into Tuesday Aug. 6, which means the safest family celebration of the year at the 17th annual Carson City National Night Out. This is an event like no other, where agencies who work in areas of public health and safety gather at Mills Park to meet with Carson City residents. This event features 3 hours of information booths, games, demonstrations, food and fun. Also happening Tuesday is a free robotics mini-camp for kids in nearby Silver City, Reciprocity Inc. will host a fundraiser at Rustically Divine, there's the Culinary Traveler’s Club's Polynesian Paradise featured at Bleu Café; the Carson City Classic Cinema Club will feature a Sci-Fi favorite at the BAC, plus fitness outings and more. GARDNERVILLE, Nev. – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada hosts the third annual Summer Soiree fundraiser to help build a clubhouse for Carson Valley members, Sunday, Aug. 11, at 4 p.m. in Genoa.

Currently, the Club activities are hosted at Pau Wa Lu Middle School, but due to school events and availability of classrooms, there are many limitations to what the Club can provide to the youth of Carson Valley without having its own location.

Please join us for the Ronald McDonald House Northern Nevada Red Shoe Gala on October 4, 2019 at the Atlantis Resort in Reno.

The evening includes dinner, silent and live auction, and a night filled with super hero fun!

Flavors of India restaurant in Carson City will host a fundraiser Saturday for a local barber who was critically injured in a vehicle accident last month.

Join Team Hope on Tuesday, July 30 at Firehouse Subs, Hwy 50, in Carson City for a Dine And Donate event to benefit the Carson City, Douglas County Relay For Life.

From 5 to 9 p.m., Firehouse Subs will be donating a portion of their proceeds to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life! Firehouse Subs is located at 3120 US-50, Carson City.
