Silver State Model T Ford Club to Hold Meeting

The Silver State Model T Ford Club will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at Red’s Old 395 Grill, 10455 S. Carson Street in Carson City.

Optional no-host dinner precedes the meeting at 6:00 p.m. Anyone interested in Model T Ford cars or trucks is welcome to attend.

Cab Calloway Orchestra, Feast of Chocolate, Artsy Fartsy jewelry show and more: Carson City region readies for weekend

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events around the Carson City region over the next three days. Dozens of sweets are in store for Saturday. The American Association of University Women holds its 20th annual Feast of Chocolate at the Carson Plaza and Event Center. Artsy Fartsy Gallery hosts its 9th annual Jewelry and Chocolate Show with several new decorative pieces. To cap-off Saturday, the legendary Cab Calloway Orchestra makes its way to the capital city.

Congressman Mark Amodei to Speak at Navy League Dinner

The Carson City Council of the United States Navy League will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the Carson City NUGGET Casino, 507 N. South Carson Street. This is a temporary change in venue! Unfortunately, the Gold Dust West was already booked for the 19th. The Social hour will start at 5:30 PM and Dinner will begin at 6:30PM.

When half the cast of “Murder on the Oriental Rug” bails out, the remaining performers are stuck playing all the roles. During the first act, you’ll meet a Shakespearean actor with a drinking problem, a washed-up former child star, a bimbo with a short memory, and a hapless costumer who finds herself onstage — playing a man.

Carson City Mint 150th anniversary, fitness events, classic film showing and more Tuesday

Heading into Tuesday, the capital city will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Carson City Mint with events throughout the day. Other activities include a morning and evening walk hosted by Muscle Powered, a dinner fundraiser for the Roman family at Pizza Factory, a community dinner and meeting invite to the Order of Eastern Star, a showing at the BAC of the 1941 film classic "The Lady Eve" and a concert featuring the Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus with violin soloist Elizabeth Pitcairn at Shepherd-Sierra Lutheran Church. Carson-Douglas Rodeo fundraiser a big success

Carson City Elks No. 2177 held a fundraiser for the Carson-Douglas Rodeo Club. This dinner event, spearheaded by Jim Masterson, was held on Jan. 17 at the Lodge in Carson City. Many Elks volunteered for this sucessful event. $4,200 was raised to help the club youths with their travel expenses and equipment.

Signups underway for Valentine's dinner, romance-themed short films made by Carson area artists

Elks Lodge celebrates Carson City Search and Rescue with $2,500 grant

On Friday night, the local Elks Lodge chapter hosted a sold-out dinner and fundraiser event in support of the Carson City Search and Rescue volunteers.

The program included a a live auction, raffle drawing, and presentation of the Elks National Foundation grant of $2,500. These Gratitude Grants are used to support local, charitable activities such as hosting a community clean-up day, purchasing supplies for a homeless shelter, or organizing a school literacy fair.

The Elks Lodge is celebrating 150 years of service.

Heading into the last weekend of January there’s a mountain of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include a Chinese New Year Celebration at the Nevada State Museum and the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada. The Carson Comedy Club hosts its first Military Appreciation Night on Friday at the Carson Nugget. Carson Valley’s 18th annual Eagles and AG Photo Contest will be underway and live music will keep the Silver State buzzing with excitement. Read on for more information.

Carson City's Bleu Cafe reopens restaurant, bar for lunch following public outcry

Carson City's Bleu Cafe closed their restaurant doors in November to focus on catering and parties, but after months of public outcry from Bleu Cafe enthusiasts, Chef Roberta Davies has opened the restaurant and bar for lunch, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The restaurant is popular for their menu that touts cooking "the old fashioned way," with every item made from scratch using real ingredients. When it closed, the public let Davies know just how upset they were.

Hi, every year my Bunko group "The Dicey Dames" of Dayton, adopts a family and we play Santa. We try to fill the kids wish list as much as we can do and also fit in all the trimmings for a Christmas dinner for the family. This is our finished wrapping event for Christmas 2019.
