Carson River watershed campaign warns of impact on water quality due to improper oil disposal

CARSON CITY — As part of the “I am Carson River Watershed” Campaign, the Carson Water Subconservancy District has launched Watershed Moments, a series of public service announcements to help engage and inform Nevadans about steps they can take to foster a healthy watershed throughout 2022.

2020 Carson River Watershed Management Forum

Carson City Parks and Rec hosts Watershed Hike, discusses upcoming educational events

This past Saturday, a group of passionate hikers braced the wind at Riverview Park for the Parks, Recreation & Open Space Department’s second annual Watershed Walk.

Fluvial Geomorphologist Lynn Zonge and CWSD Watershed Program Specialist Shane Fryer shared their extensive knowledge of the Carson River Watershed with the group.

Hello Carson City and welcome to Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019. With snow plow efforts underway and a warm-up from Mother Nature, it looks like the morning commute will be a slushy one. Carson City schools will operate today at normal start times. That all may change tomorrow though as a significant winter storm is expected to bring snow and rain to the valley and feet of snow to Lake Tahoe and the Sierra. Stay tuned.

Carson water district responds to drought; enhances flows in the West Fork of the Carson River

Get On The Bus! Carson River Watershed Bus Tour

Carson Water Subconservancy District names Brenda Hunt as new Watershed Coordinator

CARSON CITY, Nev. — Brenda Hunt has joined the Carson Water Subconservancy District staff as its new Watershed Coordinator. She replaces Genie Azad who left the district after nine years. Genie will continue natural resources work as a consultant.
Hunt earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Natural Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Masters of Art in Environmental Science from Monash University located near Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
