Nevada State Museum offers new volunteer training in Carson City

CARSON CITY — Do you love Nevada history, and, more importantly, do you love sharing that knowledge with others? If so, the Nevada State Museum has a perfect opportunity.

The museum is recruiting for volunteers, who will get a multi-day in-depth jaunt through the museum’s collections and operations.

The Nevada State Museum was voted the best museum in rural Nevada by the readers of Nevada Magazine in 2018. It couldn’t have received that recognition without the cadre of volunteers who help out on a daily basis, said Director Myron Freedman.

Next Carson City Board of Supervisors meeting to discuss flu, UNR police, new diesel taxes

According to the Carson City Board of Supervisors and Board of Health agenda for the upcoming Feb. 21 meeting, the University of Nevada, Reno Police will begin staffing the Western Nevada Campus by July 1, 2019 in an Interlocal Agreement for operational support between the Carson City Sheriff’s Office and the University of Nevada, Reno Police Services.

BAC's Celtic Series postponed Saturday, Feb. 16 due to weather
