The Reno-Tahoe International Airport unveiled its “Carson City Arts: Taking Flight” exhibit Tuesday evening at the airport’s gallery which features local artists who shine a spotlight on the capital city.

The Champions for the Arts Advocacy Day will be hosting an event focused on arts advocacy, hosted by Cultural Alliance Nevada.

Kenneth Robert Taylor passed away peacefully with family by his side in Las Vegas on Jan. 22, 2019 following a brief, unexpected illness which took him away too quickly and far too early.

The Carson City Sheriff's Office was alerted late Tuesday morning to an explosive device that was left at the administration building by a person who wanted to dispose it. The device was carried outside by Sheriff Ken Furlong.

A 45-year-old man was arrested Monday in the parking lot of a North Carson Street supermarket for allegedly stealing a snowplow and taking it for a ride while the vehicle owner was in a restaurant having lunch, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

CARSON CITY — This Wednesday, Feb. 27, the Nevada dental community is heading to Carson City to spend the day at the Capitol for Oral Health Awareness Day. Multiple power outages are being reported early Monday afternoon around Carson City and Douglas County due to a weather system that prompted a High Wind Warning earlier this morning for much of the region. Meanwhile, wind gusts flipped two vehicles on I-580 north of Carson City in Washoe Valley late Monday morning causing some traffic delays.

CARSON CITY — A slew of interesting bills and presentations are ahead this week. A bill to establish the Stewart Indian School museum is on the move Monday. Also on Monday, lawmakers will consider raising the maximum age of a “runaway or homeless youth” from 18 to 24. A physician assisted suicide bill will be heard Monday afternoon.
