UPDATE 7:41PM: The suspect is in custody and is being interviewed, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Craig Lowe. The victim told deputies she was beaten, stabbed and possibly hit with a hammer. Her condition is unknown at this time.
The man was hiding inside the residence when deputies arrived on scene. Officers used a PA system to order the man out of the home. The suspect, who was covered in blood, began shouting and then came out, said Sgt. Lowe. The scene has been secured. Detectives are investigating. His name will be released Monday.

An 18-year-old Carson City man and an inmate in the Carson City Sheriff's Detention Facility was booked Friday for suspicion of felony battery by a prisoner, a sheriff's deputy report said.
