Western Nevada College recognizes 86 on summer Dean’s List

Western Nevada College is proud to announce that 86 students have qualified for the 2016 Summer Dean’s List.

My open space was taken away by the “Friends of the Anderson Ranch”. Kim Anderson Colard, the property owner, addressed this on May 15 in a wonderful article. It is her personal property and she has a right to sell it and has been careful on what she saw fit for the area that would be appropriate for our community.

Carson City unemployment falls to 6 percent in August

Unemployment in Carson City fell to 6 percent in August, down from 6.5 percent in July, according to figures released Tuesday by the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.

Nevada’s unemployment rate fell to a seasonally-adjusted 6.3 percent in August. This is down 0.3 of a percentage point over the year.

Carson City sheriff’s log: Arrests made for vehicle theft, rock throwing and domestic battery

A 38-year-old transient was arrested Thursday, 11:44 p.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street for felony suspicion of vehicle theft and other charges after a man was discovered inside a red Jeep Cherokee reported stolen, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
