Central Lyon Fire District welcomes new firefighters
DAYTON — Central Lyon Fire Protection District adds three new hires to the ranks after the Carson Regional Fire Academy graduation ceremony held earlier this month. Tim Senger, Alan Mier Y Teran and Clayton Van Duyn join as firefighters starting in January.
Senger has nearly five years of experience as a deputy sheriff and has experience fighting fires with the Bureau of Land Management on engines and as a helicopter crewmember. Senger also served in the U.S. Army and completed a tour of duty in Iraq.
Mier Y Teran is well versed in emergency medical services with a Bachelors in health ecology from the University of Nevada, Reno, along with extensive experience in physical therapy.
Van Duyn spent the past two years with Central Lyon Fire as a seasonal firefighter. He also has experience with REMSA and the Carson City Fire Department. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Nevada, Reno.
“We are very excited to welcome these three outstanding individuals to the Central Lyon Team,” Rich Harvey, fire chief for Central Lyon Fire, said. “They have excellent foundational skills in fire and EMS, but more importantly they have exemplary attitude, work ethic and the drive to professionally and competently serve the residents and visitors to our district.”
