Carson City Nugget feeding community for over six decades with Thanksgiving feasts
For more than 60 years, the Carson City Nugget has been feeding he community with a free Thanksgiving feast, and this year was no exception. Together with Friends In Service Helping (FISH), hundreds of people enjoyed a hot, home cooked meal served up by community volunteers.
Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pie and more all filled the plates of those who joined in on the dinner, which began at 11 a.m. Thursday and lasted until 1 p.m. in the upstairs banquet room of the Nugget.
FISH donated 100 turkeys for the meal, and their volunteers helped with both serving up food as well as bussing and waiting tables.
They’ve been preparing and cooking for over a week, and certainly didn’t disappoint!
