Carson City's newest Italian restaurant, Cucina Lupo, officially open for business
Cucina Lupo, Carson City’s newest Italian restaurant, hosted its grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday.
The owner, Mark Estee, is also the proprietor of several other local restaurants including Carson City’s The Union, Gardnerville’s Overland Restaurant and Pub, and Reno’s Liberty Food and Wine Exchange, as well as Chez Louie in the Nevada Museum of Art.
The restaurant has taken the place of the Martin Hotel, which previously occupied the space in the Curry Street building for just over a year when it closed down. The Martin’s original location in Winnemucca is still open.
You can try Cucina Lupo’s Italian fare for yourself by stopping in at 234 N. Curry Street. Cucina Lupo's menu features modern Italian dishes, influenced by the flavors of both northern and southern Italy, with a local Basque flair.
Cucina Lupo is focused on creating seasonally inspired Italian cuisine sourced from local farms and purveyors in northern Nevada. Modern dishes like squid ink spaghetti will be served alongside classic favorites like chicken parmigiana and fettuccine alfredo, with housemade pastas and breads.
The eatery is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
