Carson City area casinos see September gaming profits drop, Lake Tahoe sees big win
Casinos in Carson City and Carson Valley report a decline of nearly 4.2 percent in September gaming profits over 2012 figures but just up the hill at Lake Tahoe, the casinos at Stateline saw gaming "win" climb by 23 percent, Nevada Gaming Control Board reports Thursday.
Overall gaming in the Silver State for September was healthy, with a 7.4 percent gaming "win" with profits of $958,805,870. For the fiscal year, July 1, 2013 through Sept. 30, 2013, gaming related profits has increased 2.97 percent.
Casinos in Carson City, Minden and Gardnerville and all other areas of Douglas County except for Lake Tahoe took in gaming revenues $8,455,170 for September. In September 2012 the amount was $8,823,305. The decline amounts to 4.17 percent.
Lake Tahoe casinos in Stateline took in $22,188,166 in September gaming profits. In September 2012 the casinos there saw profits of $18,011,866.
