Traffic delays on US50 East compounded by 2 crashes, Halloween festivities at Centennial Park
UPDATE 7:13PM: Traffic should be cleared in all directions after 7:30 p.m. said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. With two vehicle crashes earlier and the Boo-Nanza Halloween celebration at Centennial Park that ended at 7 p.m., traffic along Highway 50 East has been significantly impacted with delays.

***UPDATE 5:36 PM: Traffic has been diverted on Eastbound Highway 50 East, which was closed at Arrowhead at 5:30 p.m. and re-directed at Deer Run Road. Motorists can expect delays.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol responded late Thursday afternoon to two separate vehicle crashes on Highway 50 East that happened within minutes of each other.
The first one, reported at around 4:38 p.m. involves four vehicles on Highway 50 East near College Parkway. No serious injuries were reported. The second crash happened at around 4:42 p.m. near Highway 50 East and Empire Ranch Road.
Traffic on the highway is heavy due evening commutes and the city's Boo-Nanza Halloween festivities happening at nearby Centennial Park off of Highway 50 East. The event ends at 7 p.m. As of around 5:50 p.m. Motorists were at a standstill at Fairview Drive. Motorists can expect delays.
The cause of the crashes are under investigation.
