Carson City wakes to snow; showers to last through Tuesday
Carson City residents were greeted to about an inch of snow that fell overnight. A Winter Weather Advisory issued through the National Weather Service in Reno lasts until noon Monday.
In this storm, up to 3 inches of snow was expected above 5,000 feet with 1 to 2 inches on the valley floor, especially in Carson City, Dayton and Gardnerville.
Streets are slushy rather than icy in Carson City and not causing many problems for motorists. Snow showers should turn to rain by later today with highs around 45. Snow will return tonight and into Tuesday morning, according to the weather service.
