Fog through Carson City and northwestern Nevada could impact morning commute
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 12/05/2012 - 10:33pmRecent rainfall and clearing skies may allow areas of fog to develop across Carson City, Carson Valley and Lake Tahoe through Thursday morning.
The National Weather Service in Reno reports visibility could drop below one mile with a few areas of dense fog and visibility below 1/4 of a mile early Thursday morning. Fog will begin to burn off after 8 a.m., and may linger in a few valleys until 11 a.m.

Thunderstorms and Red Flag Warning for Northern Nevada

July 13, 2012 - 5:45pm The National Weather Service in Reno reports a Red Flag Warning within Carson City and other areas of Northern and Western Nevada. This warning indicates that critical fire conditions may occur because of the harsh lightening that will follow up during tonight’s weather, along with light showers. The affected area for this kind of danger is within the west central portion of the Nevada Basin and range. The unstable weather is expected to last through Saturday.
Gusty winds to continue for Carson City through tonight
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 05/25/2011 - 3:38pmHigh winds continue to whip through Carson City this afternoon, with a gust reaching 53 mph recorded so far in the capital city, according to CarsonWeather.com.
A wind advisory continues through 11 tonight as southwest gusts of up to 70 mph are possible in wind prone areas and gusts between 35 to 55 mph for areas along Highway 395, Highway 50 and Interstate 80, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.

Wind advisory for Carson City; winter storm warning for Sierra
Submitted by editor on Sun, 03/20/2011 - 12:25amGusty winds and rain will develop early this morning for the Carson City region, prompting the National Weather Service in Reno to issue a wind advisory through 5 p.m. this afternoon.
The storm looks as though it will be heaviest in areas outside of Carson City with a winter storm warning for Lake Tahoe and the Sierra and a high wind warning for areas east and south of Carson City, especially in Mono, Mineral and southern Lyon counties, according to CarsonWeather.com.

Rain expected to linger in Carson City and Sierra

Storm totals on Sunday afternoon in Carson City were at .17", with significant chance of more through at least midweek.
This rain event broke a rather lengthy dry spell of 54 days without precipitation.

Carson City weather to remain unstable through Friday
