Virtual reality mobile classroom zSpace visits Carson City school, WNC
The zSpace Virtual Reality Mobile Classroom paid a visit to Carson Middle School and Western Nevada College in Carson City on Tuesday.
As the use of virtual reality in education continues to grow, this mobile classroom traveling the country made a stop in Carson City to offer an up-close look at 3D modules and virtual learning tools that provide experiences such as dissecting organs and a lot more.
The traveling 3D educational experience was equipped with computers and 3D virtual learning tools. While inside, students had the opportunity go through modules and solve science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related challenges. With these types of virtual tools, they could perform anything from virtual EKGs to examining the inner workings of a car, learn how to take it apart and put it back together.
Students and staff at Western Nevada College experimented with virtual and augmented reality-based learning technology on Tuesday at the Carson City campus. zSpace, a technology firm from Sunnyvale, Calif., mobilized 10 tabletop work stations as part of its Northern Nevada mobile classroom tour in Northern Nevada.
The hands-on demonstrations allowed participants to interact with simulated objects in virtual environments. The zSpace tour continues Wednesday at WNC’s Fallon campus.
