Signups underway for Carson City Turkey Trot 2016
Before the football games, the big meal and the pies, why not get in a little run with a few hundred of your neighbors Thanksgiving morning? The Carson City Turkey Trot is an event the entire family will enjoy and is on its way to becoming a local tradition.
Hosted by St. Teresa Catholic School, the Turkey Trot offers an 8K, 5-mile run, a 5K, 3.1 miles run / walk, or the Gobble Wobble 1 mile Kids Fun Run. The Nov. 24 event begins on Mountain Street in front of the Governor's Mansion and meanders through the west side of town.
— Early Bird $25 Registration is now through Oct. 16.
— Regular $30 Registration is by Nov. 15
— Late Registration is $35 by Nov. 22
— Same Day Registration $40
— Kids Gobble Wobble 1 mile race is $15 with no price increase.
The money raised will go to the school with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Friends in Service Helping, also known as FISH. Pies and medals will be given to the top three finishers for men and women.
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. for the Gobble Wobble.
Runners (who pre-register) receive a shirt and small swag bag of goodies. Top three finishers for male and female receive a medal.
