New boat ramp hours begin Tuesday at Tahoe's Sand Harbor and Cave Rock
As the fall season nears and days become shorter, the Nevada Division of State Parks is adjusting the hours of operation for the boat launch sites at both Sand Harbor and Cave Rock Lake Tahoe Nevada State Parks.
Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, the Sand Harbor State Park boat ramp will be changing its hours to open at 7 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m. For the safety and protection of visitors and park staff, the ramp will be closed on days when the National Weather Service issues a Lake Wind Advisory.
Access to the Sand Harbor State Park boat ramp and parking lot will close for the season at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 15. The main parking lot will remain open for the winter allowing non-motorized watercraft to launch from the main beach.
Additionally, the Cave Rock State Park boat ramp will begin operations by the Tahoe Resource Conservation District on Oct. 1. Boaters are advised to check Tahoe Boat Inspections for hours and closures.
