Firefighters contain brush fire in Douglas County off of Leviathan Mine Road
UPDATE: 8:21PM: According to East Fork Fire, growth from the Meadow Mine Fire has dropped significantly. Per the scanner, two-thirds of the fire has been contained and units will be released to their stations throughout the night.

UPDATE 7:31PM: According to East Fork Fire, the Meadow Mine Fire has grown to approximately 130 acres. Units on scene were called to examine the Double Springs area off of Highway 395 in Douglas County.

UPDATE 6:56PM: According to a battalion chief officer on scene, the Meadow Mine Fire has grown to 120 acres. Evacuations have not been put in place near the Leviathan Mine Road area in Douglas County.

UPDATE 6:28PM: Douglas County sent out an alert to their Facebook page asking residents in the area to remain vigilant and check their phones for emergency notifications at this time. UPDATE 6:13PM: Homes near Leviathan Mine Road off of Highway 395 in Douglas County have been alerted to possibly evacuate the area. The Meadow Mine Fire has grown to 60 acres, according to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center.

East Fork Fire was called just after 5 p.m. Monday to a brush fire burning off of Leviathan Mine Road in Douglas County. Carson City Fire Department has been called as mutual aid to assist.
The fire was reported at 5:10 p.m. in the area of Leviathan Mine Road, according to Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch. According to a battalion chief on scene, the fire was growing. Multiple fire units have been called to the scene, including Carson City.
The battalion chief asked for law enforcement to help with possible evacuation plans, according to dispatch via scanner.
Leviathan Mine Road is in south Douglas County off of Highway 395.
