Central Lyon Fire crews responded Sunday afternoon to brush fires in the Dayton area and one possible in Stagecoach. One fire near the "D" hill behind Dayton High School was reportedly knocked down just after 2 p.m. and firefighters are continuing to work on a fire located on Como Mountain.
No structures are threatened at this time, according to LCSO Dispatch/911 Communications Center, which is advising people to avoid the area and yield to emergency crews responding to the fires. The cause of the fires are under investigation.
There was third fire that was also reported in the Stagecoach area in the 8100 block of Iroquois Trail. Firefighters were en route to the single report and an arriving battalion chief said there was nothing showing in the vicinity as of around 2:21 p.m., and that it was likely drift smoke from the Loyalton Fire, according to dispatch.
