Kittens and Cookies adoption event a sweet success in Carson City
The Kitten and Cookies adoption event hosted by Carson Tahoe SPCA was a success, thanks to National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day Saturday, making it an even sweeter trip to PetSmart.
Along with adorable cats waiting to find a new home, customers could also pick up a cookie or two provided by Carson-Tahoe Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
“We like to have adoption events once a month, but it all depends," said Carson Tahoe SPCA Director Susan Paul. "We’ve got a whole slew of kittens and we like to do them as often as we can. We like to include them with something else.”
Within the first hour, Paul said at least seven kittens were adopted. Carson-Tahoe SPCA houses a total of six foster homes around the area by organization volunteers.
“The kittens are so socialized and well-adjusted, because they live in a home environment,” explained Paul, referring to the foster homes the cats live in.
Carson Tahoe SPCA hosts montly adoption events at PetSmart in Carson City, 250 Fairview Drive next door to Office Depot.
