Fire damages home, trailer on South Curry in Carson City
Update: A home and trailer were heavily damaged by a fire on South Curry Street in Carson City today.
Residents Kathleen Stevens and her daughter Elizabeth Nix were able to escape without injury. Firefighters rescued their dog, Thor.
"The dog is my soulmate," Nix said. "I don't know what I would do without him."
Fire crews are still on the scene, and no cause has been determined yet. The fire broke out shortly after noon. The home is located next to the Ormsby House.

Carson City fire crews are responding to South Curry Street this afternoon with a working structure fire.
Flames are showing and the fire is producing flames and heavy smoke, according to crews on the scene.
The fire is located at 702 South Curry Street. At least four engines and the Carson City Sheriff's office is responding.
According to dispatch, traffic is being diverted and blocked at the area of the fire. A nearby resident apparently told dispatch that they were evacuating their home.
Meanwhile, people have come out to look at the fire, walking near it and fire personnel are telling people to stay back.
