Carson City firefighters respond to structure fire off Neptune Court
Carson City firefighters responded early Monday evening to a working structure fire near the 2700 block of Highway 50 East off of Neptune Court and Carmine Street.
The occupant of the residence and two dogs escaped injury but the fire burned much of the manufactured home and there was partial roof collapse, said Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi. A third dog was reported missing.
Dispatch callout to multiple fire engines was at 5:49 p.m. Arriving firefighters said there was heavy smoke coming from a manufactured home, and a plume of smoke was seen from nearby businesses and home owners who called 911.
Fire units from Douglas and Lyon County were called to help Carson City firefighters as mutual aid. The fire was knocked down at around 6:30 p.m., said Giomi.
A neighbor said he walked outside and smelled smoke coming from the home and called 911. He said the next thing he saw was his neighbor coming out of the home with the dogs and that's around the time fire engines arrived.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and there was a good amount of material in the home which burned, said Chief Giomi.
