Nevada governor to announce Phase 1 opening date and plans today at 3 p.m.
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak will provide information and a re-opening date for Nevada as part of the Phase 1, Roadmap to Recovery plan.
The Governor will make the announcement 3 p.m. Thursday, in a press conference. It will be made available at http://nvleg.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?event_id=25378&fbclid=IwAR1EVP... and local network news channels.
In late April, Gov. Steve Sisolak signed a directive, and as of May 1 Nevada saw an easing of some coronavirus-related restrictions including allowing golf, drive-in worship services and curbside pickup at marijuana dispensaries and other retailers.
Many other elements of the strict “Stay at Home” were extended until May 15, including closures of nonessential businesses such as hair salons, bars and casinos.
The governor credited the “incredible discipline Nevadans have shown in slowing the growth of this virus” and that barring any unforeseen spike in cases or hospitalizations, the state would be able to move to a “Phase 1” reopening by or before May 15.
