Lyon County sheriff’s K-9 program receives $16,367 grant from Firehouse Subs
Making good on its commitment to fundraising on behalf of public safety, Firehouse Subs has made a generous grant donation to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office K-9 program.
Lyon County Sheriff’s Office will celebrate the $16,367 grant on Wednesday, April 11, 11:45 a.m. at Firehouse Subs, 3120 Highway 50 in Carson City.
Because of the grant, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was able to field K-9 Borys, provide a vehicle with a K-9 up-fit and cover the cost of the K-9 handler certification course. K-9 Borys, a Czech Shepherd, will be part of Wednesday’s ceremony.
“Through this grant funding the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has allowed our K-9 program to move years into the future,” said Lyon County Sheriff Al McNeil. “Without their help we would not have been able to field a second dog for at least another couple of years. We are truly grateful for their support.”
On hand will be representatives of Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, representatives of Carson City Firehouse Subs and members of the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
