Carson City man arrested for felony burglary after allegedly stealing a two-dollar glue stick
A 37-year-old Carson City an was arrested in the 1300 block of S. Stewart for burglary, petit larceny after allegedly stealing a $2.00 glue stick from a local craft store.
According to the report, Donald Bigpond was arrested after deputies were dispatched to a local craft store regarding a burglary that had just occurred. According to the reporting party, a man, later identified as Bigpond, had taken merchandise from the store and placed them up his sleeve before exiting the store.
Deputies discovered the man in the main area of the Carson Mall holding a gatorade drink in his right hand and a stick of glue in his left hand. He was detained.
Deputies spoke with employees of the craft store who stated they were advised by an employee from another store within the mall that the man was seen shoplifting something from the bins located outside the craft store’s doors.
An empty “Elmer’s Crazy Glue” package was recovered from the area. The glue was valued at $2.00.
The store manager stated they wished to press charges for petit larceny against Bigpond, and wanted him trespassed.
On Bigpond’s person deputies located two small bags of marijuana, a transparent blue gemstone, a clear transparent gemstone and a small dime bag that had gemstone dust.
Bigpond was taken into custody and formally trespassed from the Carson Mall.
His marijuana was booked for destruction and his gemstones and gemstone dust were booked for safe keeping.
Deputies spoke with Bigpond at the jail and told him he was formally trespassed. Bigpond stated he was going to sue the Sheriff’s Office and sue the Carson Mall and that he would not speak with deputies further.
Bail: $25,352
Warrants:
A 21-year-old Carson City man was transferred to the Carson City Jail from the Storey County Jail on a Carson City warrant for “Larceny from person” under $2,500.
Damien Munoz-Malone was taken into custody without issue. The warrant was issued on Nov. 24, 2019.
Bail: $10,000 cash only
