Carson City deputies arrest man for warrant following report of public marijuana consumption
A transient man was arrested on a contempt of court warrant for failing to appear, issued out of Tonopah Township on Feb. 4 after someone reported him allegedly smoking marijuana in public.
According to the report, deputies were dispatched to the area of E. Robinson and N. Plaza Street in reference to a subject possibly smoking marijuana. The man was reported by a citizen who was driving by.
Deputies located the man and identified him, and he denied he was smoking marijuana in public.
A records check showed he had a warrant out of Tonopah Township for failure to appear.
He was taken into custody. During intake, deputies located a marijuana pipe on his person and booked it into evidence for safe keeping.

Warrants:
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested for contempt of court issued out of Carson City Justice Court on Oct. 2, 2019.
According to the report, deputies were on patrol when they identified the man walking past a local Carson Street Casino around 7:35 p.m.
A wants and warrants check showed that the man had a warrant out of Carson City for contempt of court.
Deputies made contact with the man and took him into custody without issue.
