#8 WNC Baseball Heads to Arizona To Take On #2 Central Arizona
Two Top-10 nationally ranked teams will face-off this weekend in sunny Arizona. #2 Central Arizona College and #8 Western Nevada College will play four games starting this Friday in Arizona. Last year at this time, both teams faced off in Las Vegas and WNC took three out of the four games. Central Arizona was ranked #1 at the time. The Wildcats also eliminated CAC from the playoffs last season by beating them 9-3 in Salt Lake City, UT during the Western District Tournament.
This will be the first road trip for the Wildcats in 2013 as last weekend took a surprise turn when the series against South Mountain Community College was moved up to Carson City after originally being planned for Las Vegas. Due to a rainy forecast for Vegas, the series was moved. It was the first time the Wildcats played a home game before the month of March. The Wildcats swept South Mountain in the four game series making it the first time in school history that WNC has started 4-0. WNC is looking forward to playing in mid-70’s weather to get out of the cold Northern Nevada has been stuck in for the better of two months.
