Carson City elected leaders sworn in at Monday ceremony
Carson City leaders were sworn into office today at the Carson City Courthouse. Carson City Mayor Robert Crowell presided with the oath of office taken by District Court Judge James T. Russell and James E. Wilson Jr.
Among the new leaders are Carson City Ward 3 Supervisor Lori Bagwell, Carson City Clerk-Recorder Sue Merriwether and Carson City District Attorney Jason Woodbury. Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong was officially sworn in, his fourth term as sheriff, (see second photo below), as was Carson City Ward 1 Supervisor Karen Abowd, her second term, City Assessor David Dawley, and Carson City Treasurer Al Kramer, who will occupy the position briefly before leaving to work for Nevada Treasurer Dan Schwartz.
Also sworn in are Carson City School District trustees Stacie Wilke, Ron Swirczek, Ryan Green and Deonne Contine.
“The swearing in of our newly elected City and School Board officers is a great way start the new year and a reminder that we live in a great community,” said Carson City Mayor Crowell.
