The Kittens of Catmandu Need You
Kitten season is just around the corner and Catmandu needs your help, both physically and financially.
Your donation via the Nevada Big Give https://nvbiggive.razoo.com/us/story/Catmandu from now until midnight on Thursday, March 10th will help us financially prepare for the 7-8 months of kitten season that lie ahead.
We also need volunteers and foster homes for kittens-to-come. IN 2015, Catmandu took in and found good homes for 280 kittens.
That is an increase of more than 200% from 2014. We expect this year will bring even more to our door. Some of these sweet little furbabies come to us sick, orphaned, and in need of extra medical care and attention. Lots more are simply happy, healthy, playful kittens; but they still go through a LOT of food, litter, vaccinations, spay/neuter, etc.
We also need foster homes to take in babies too little to stay at Catmandu and to care for the overflow kittens during the peaks of kitten season. Fostering isn’t for everyone, it is often hard work and sometimes heartbreaking. But the payoff is worth it.
Experience is a huge plus, especially when dealing with the tinys. You need to have a room for them that isn’t accessible to other pets or small children. If you might be able to help, Catmandu is a community-dependant organization. We receive no government funding and do not have any grants.
We rely entirely on donations, fundraisers and adoption fees (we lose money on every cat/kitten we adopt, and we are thrilled to do it) for our continued existence. Thank you for all that you have done to make Catmandu what it is today and all that you continue to do to help us get better. Meow!
