REMSA Education Center Graduates 10 Paramedics
Reno, NV – REMSA (Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority) Center for Prehospital Education has announced that all 10 of its paramedic program candidates from the February 2015 cohort successfully graduated on February 22, 2016.
The REMSA Center for Prehospital Education has experienced remarkable success of training paramedics with a 96 percent first-time pass rate on the National Registry of Emergency Medical Services Paramedic Exam in 2015 versus the national average of first-time pass rate of 75 percent. On average, the REMSA Center for Prehospital Education trains 30 new paramedics per year.
Prior to taking the National Registry Exam, paramedic candidates must complete the 12-month program that included full time classroom education, 300 hours of clinical site experience (e.g. in an emergency department, operating room, intensive care unit, urgent care facility, labor and delivery, etc.) and 480 hours on an ambulance as a functioning entry level paramedic.
Graduates included: Ryan Bailey, Michael Bartlett, Clayton Bena, Maxwell Brixey, Zachary Chatelle, Jesse Kohler, Dustin Peterson, Chelsea Seelbinder, Brian Sheckler and Kyle Van Mouwerik.
The REMSA Center for Prehospital Education’s paramedic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs through the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions.
