Carson City Leisure Hour Club Recognizes Work of the CIRCLES Initiative
At its Feb. 20 meeting, the Carson City Leisure Hour Club recognized the outstanding work of the Capitol City C.I.R.C.L.E.S. Initiative with a $500 donation. Accepting the check for the organization were Shelly Aldean, co-founder and past president, and Program Manager Thomas Blake, Jr.
The organization is a local nonprofit that helps elevate people out of poverty by giving them the tools they need to become economically self-sufficient.
Prior to accepting the donation, Aldean and Blake were joined by Initiative participant Maria Bravo to share the C.I.R.C.L.E.S.’s goals, programs, and positive results for individuals and the greater Carson City community.
In presenting the donation, Leisure Hour Club President Debbie Lane noted that the each year, the Leisure Hour Club seeks nominations from club members for a community group that excels at supporting and/or enhancing the lives of individuals or the living environment in Carson City. Lane said that the Leisure Hour Club was especially happy this year to recognize and support the C.I.R.C.L.E.S. Initiative and she extended the Club’s best wishes for their continued success.
