The station was chosen as one of the club’s Outstanding Community Organizations earlier this year. The award was presented to Joe Bly, KNVC Program Director, at the station’s studios in Carson City.
Carson City Leisure Hour Club recognizes Nevada State Prison Preservation Society

On Feb. 19 the club donated $500 to the Nevada State Prison Preservation Society. Glen Whorton, President of the NSPPS, accepted the donation and said that the donation will contribute to making the prison open to the public.

Life of Julia Bulette featured at Leisure Hour Club dinner meeting

Bulette’s murder began a manhunt that last over a year and resulted in the arrest, trial, and the April 24, 1869 execution of John Millian.
In what was the largest gathering of people in Nevada up to that time, 3,000 to 4,000 people were present at the hanging.
