Award Winning National Bluegrass band, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out To Perform At Brewery Arts Center
Fresh off the win of the International Bluegrass Music Association's (IBMA) Male Vocalist of the Year for the second consecutive year (4-time career), Russell Moore is truly at the top of his game. Fronting one of the most popular bands in bluegrass history; Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out is celebrating 20 years as one of the genres most awarded and influential groups in modern day bluegrass. All in all, the band has garnered over 50 industry accolades since their inception in 1991 including being named the IBMA’s Vocal Group of the Year seven consecutive years. Their a cappella renditions of many songs can rarely be matched and their superb instrumentation provides even more quality sound to their rich vocal blend featuring one of the most respected lead vocalists of all time. All this along with a heavy touring schedule, including many performances on the Grand Ole Opry as well as GAC and RFD channel programs, over 16 recordings to date, and a desire to present their fans with the best music possible, makes this "supergroup" one of bluegrass music's most recognized and in-demand bands. The ensemble celebrated tremendous success with the release of their first studio project in five years in 2010; the self-titled CD has been on Billboard's Top 50 Bluegrass chart for retail sales since February 2010. To commemorate the band's 20- year milestone together, Rural Rhythm Records released Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out’s PRIME TYME on October 25, 2011. The CD is already breaking records with four songs from the project on the National Bluegrass Top 30 Singles chart simultaneously including “If Your Heart Should Ever Roll This Way Again” and “Pretty Little Girl From Galax”. PRIME TYME debuted at #8 on Billboard’s Top 50 Bluegrass CDs and currently holds the #1 spot on the National Bluegrass Survey’s Top 15 CDs for the month of February. In addition, the first single from the project, “If Your Heart Should Ever Roll This Way Again” is #1 on the National Bluegrass Survey’s Top 30 Singles chart and “Pretty Little Girl From Galax” is #1 for the 2nd month in a row on the Bluegrass Today Monthly Singles chart. Jack Bernhardt with the Raleigh News & Observer summed it all up perfectly; “With PRIME TYME, Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out show why they are among the industry's elite, and that they're still exciting after all these years.”
