Homegrown Olympian: Carson City native wins slot in Tokyo Games

On Thursday night, Palmer and her competition partner Alison Gibson finished first in the women's synchronized 3-meter springboard at the U.S. Diving Olympic trials, securing their spots for Team USA at this year's Olympics.
Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range to temporarily close for maintenance

On June 29th, the long range will be closed for maintenance.

As I was scanning the fishing world last week, I ran across a story in the montanaoutdoor.com website about an angler named Robbie Dockter from Conrad, Montana.
Robbie was fishing the Marias River in Montana and caught the new state record Brown trout. The official weight was 32.43 pounds.
Carson City’s Elizondo boxes Saturday in national TV bout

The 22-year-old lightweight with a 3-2-2 record will face highly touted Anthony Cuba, who won his professional debut Oct. 31 with a second-round knockout. In previous televised fight cards, it was uncertain beforehand whether Elizondo’s bout would be included on the broadcast. Not this time.

NHL Vegas Golden Knights, Colorado Avalanche game at Tahoe delayed due to sunny conditions

On Sunday one game resumes Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers. The match will air 4:30 p.m. and is subject to change due to ice safety conditions. NBCSN, Sportsnet and TVA Sports will provide live coverage.

On Saturday, the NHL hosted an outdoor game in Lake Tahoe at Edgewood between Nevada's own Vegas Golden Knights against the Colorado Avalanche.
The weather originally called for an overcast day with a bit of snow, but what they found was a cloudless blue sky, with lots of sun.

At 6 a.m. Tom and I were on the lake waiting for the official start time. There was an eerie fog-like mist lingering over the lake. It was a cool 18 degrees, and the winds were calm. Our first line went into the water at 6:33 a.m. and the first strike came at 7 a.m.
