Seven local bowlers were inducted in the inaugural class of the Carson Country Association Hall of Fame at the annual meeting for the association on Saturday, April 23, at Carson Lanes. Carson Country is the local association of the U.S. Bowling Congress.

The Nevada Day Golf Tournament will take place next Saturday April 30, 2022, with registration beginning at 7:15 a.m. at the Silver Oak Golf Course.

This annual event provides a portion of the funds raised to the high school bands throughout the state to assist with their travel to the Nevada Day Parade in October, while the remainder of the funds supports the Nevada Day Parade.

As validated by the International Ice Swimming Association, Carson City area native Lisa Yamamoto completed a 1.61-mile swim in 37.1F water to claim the longest “Ice Swim” in the United States, the 8th longest in the word, and the 2nd longest for a female.

The Carson Victory Rollers face against the Outlaws from Auburn on April 30th at the Carson City Community Center. It's gonna be a rootin' tootin' good time so be sure to dress for the theme or wear your favorite CVR or Outlaws shirt. Feel free to make signs and cheer for your favorite skaters, but please no airhorns.

With golf season rapidly approaching full swing, the Carson City Sunday Men’s Club is accepting applications for those 18 and over who desire a welcoming environment to play competitively with friends, co-workers, and even family members.

Sunday March 27th the Clear Creek Bowmen will be hosting their annual Hell or High Water 3D Archery Shoot.

It will be a two arrow, 30 3D target fun shoot.

Due to daylight savings time, the Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range will adjust to its spring schedule starting March 1. The Range will be open to the public for drop-in use Tuesdays through Sundays from 7:00am to 6:00pm, weather permitting.

The Genoa Lakes Ladies’ Golf Club (GLLGC) will kick off the 2022 golfing season on Tuesday, April 5. Women golfers age 18 and over are eligible to join this friendly group of women golfers.

Weekly tournaments are offered for members on Tuesday mornings at one of the Genoa Lakes Golf Club courses, April through the first part of October. A $7 buy-in is required to participate in weekly tournaments and closest to the pin contests. Membership dues are $160 per year, and cover GHIN handicap, 3 complimentary luncheons, hole-in-one fund, and year-end awards.

Come watch some roller derby for a good cause on Sunday, Feb. 20 at the Carson City Community Center! We’ll be accepting donations for Johnny Seaver of Hard Knox tattoos who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The funds will go to help Johnny and his family pay for medical care. Doors open at 4pm and the first whistle blows at 5pm!

Carson City's Derrick Johnson defeated Shane Shook 224-168 to become the champion at the Northern Nevada Masters youth tournament last Sunday, January 23. The tournament was held at Carson Lanes and was sponsored by the Carson Country U.S. Bowling Congress Association.

Nevada Raider Nation, Carson City Chapter will host a Las Vegas Raiders vs. the Kansas City Chiefs game watch Sunday, Dec. 12 beginning at 10 a.m. a Jimmy G's in downtown Carson City.

After two first place wins at local and regional competitions, our JV Cheer team is going to the Jamz National Cheer Competition in Las Vegas in January of 2022.

Saturday wrapped up the third and final two-hour Intro to Pickleball Class at the Robert “Bob” Crowell Multi-Purpose Athletic Center (MAC) in Carson City. Around 40 new players attended each of the three sessions, held on 6, 13 and 20 November. It was amazing and gratifying to see how much improvement the new players demonstrated in such a short time.

Nevada Raider Nation, Carson City Chapter will host a game watch at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 21 at Jimmy G's in Carson City.

Coach Blair Roman has retired as Head Football Coach after 14 seasons leading the Senators Football Program. Coach Roman’s record at Carson High School was 81-63. The Senators won 6 league titles under his guidance: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015. His teams also qualified for the playoffs 9 times.

Nevada Raider Nation, Carson City Chapter will host a Las Vegas Raiders game watch at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7 at Jimmy G's in Carson City.

The Chapter will have a 50/50 cash drawing this weekend; tickets are $1 each. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish or snack to share. Jimmy G's offers discounts to Chapter members on drinks.

Twenty-nine members in five flights competed for the 2021 Genoa Lakes Ladies’ Golf Club championship title during two rounds played at the Lakes course in September. Sherrie Millichap won the tournament with a gross, two-day score of 167.

The Carson Senators Varsity football team celebrates the win against Douglas High School Friday October15th and reclaimed The Rivalry Trophy!

Carson City local, Shane Trotter, has done it again: Trotter won the 24 Hour World Time Trial Championships for his age group in 2019, and he wanted to go back in 2020, but the event was cancelled due to Covid.

Trotter has been heavily training for these and other Ultra Cycling events for the past 4 years. He and his wife Nikki Trotter own a local Spin Studio, Life Cycle Spin and Yoga. Trotter does a lot of his training while teaching classes at the spin studio.
