Carson Country is the local association of the U.S. Bowling Congress.

Annual Nevada Day Golf Tournament happening April 30; team slots filling quickly, so register now

This annual event provides a portion of the funds raised to the high school bands throughout the state to assist with their travel to the Nevada Day Parade in October, while the remainder of the funds supports the Nevada Day Parade.

Genoa Lakes Ladies’ Golf Club 2021 season tees off April 5

Weekly tournaments are offered for members on Tuesday mornings at one of the Genoa Lakes Golf Club courses, April through the first part of October. A $7 buy-in is required to participate in weekly tournaments and closest to the pin contests. Membership dues are $160 per year, and cover GHIN handicap, 3 complimentary luncheons, hole-in-one fund, and year-end awards.

Around 40 new players attended each of the three sessions, held on 6, 13 and 20 November. It was amazing and gratifying to see how much improvement the new players demonstrated in such a short time.

Coach Roman’s record at Carson High School was 81-63. The Senators won 6 league titles under his guidance: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015. His teams also qualified for the playoffs 9 times.

Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Fri, 10/15/2021 - 12:09pmCarson City local, Shane Trotter, has done it again: Trotter won the 24 Hour World Time Trial Championships for his age group in 2019, and he wanted to go back in 2020, but the event was cancelled due to Covid.
Trotter has been heavily training for these and other Ultra Cycling events for the past 4 years. He and his wife Nikki Trotter own a local Spin Studio, Life Cycle Spin and Yoga. Trotter does a lot of his training while teaching classes at the spin studio.
