Youth Theatre Carson City is thrilled to announce our upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz, Youth Edition, playing eight performances weekends July 21-30, 2023 in the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center.

Rex Meredith, the high energy and musically talented comedian with appearances with Richard Pryor, Robin Williams, Ray Charles, The Tonight Show, HBO, Showtime and more, takes the stage at the Carson Nugget Casino's Grand Showroom in Carson City this Saturday, July 22, for shows at 6 and 8 p.m., along with local northern Nevada acts, Howie Nave and Oscar Ovies.

The public is invited to a meet and greet before the show with Meredith, Nave and Ovies in Gina's Good Life Lounge, inside the Carson Nugget, at 5 p.m.

Eunkang Koh said, “My recent work responds to lifestyles and thinking processes that are often ruled by consumerism.” In her "Desire" exhibition for the Capital City Arts Initiative, Koh presents sculptures and prints laced with diversity and humor.

The Nevada Wolf Pack and USC Trojans will meet for the sixth time in history on Sept. 2, 2023. The last time Nevada played USC was 94 years ago on Nov. 9, 1929 at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

The Reno Jazz Orchestra will present a free big band music and dance production in partnership with Artown 2023 on July 29 at the J Resort in Reno, Nevada. During the two-hour performance of “Hot House, One Night at the Savoy,” the Reno Jazz Orchestra will capture the character of nightclubbing in the 1930s.

Carson Valley Community Theatre will hold a casting of 5 to 8 women of different ages this week for its production of "Love Loss and What I Wore."

With "sunrise or sunset" as its theme, the Carson City Photo Club has announced the winning photo entries for this month's photo competition.

Entries will be accepted Saturday, July 29 from 10am to 1pm for Nevada Artists Association Summer Show.

Ronnie Rector’s cheerful compositions tell a story and demonstrate her love of painting.

Rector’s show, "All Things Watercolor", will be in the Community Center’s Crowell Board Room, from July 10 through October 19, 2023. CCAI will host a reception for the artist on Tuesday, July 18, 5:00 – 6:30PM with an artist introduction at 5:30PM.

The Community Center is located at 851 E William Street, Carson City. The Crowell Board Room is open for all the city’s public meetings and upon request.
